JAIL superintendent suspended for convict's escape :

The Himachal Pradesh government has suspended a jail superintendent for his alleged connivance in the escape of a convict from the Nahan Central Jail more than three months ago. Arvind Sharma has also being charge-sheeted in the escape of Shymal Rao Reddy, who has been sentenced to death, a spokesman of Home Department said. Sharma was on leave when the incident took place and the Additional Superintendent of jail and five wardens were suspended and cases were registered against them. The action against Sharma last night comes following the submission of a departmental inquiry into the incident, he said. PTI
